The Family Garden offers many different types of Yoga Classes to meet the needs of families from preconception through pregnancy and postpartum. There are even classes for your little ones! Regularly scheduled classes are $12 per drop in visit or you may purchase a punch card (5 visits for $57, 10 visits for $110 or 20 visits for $200) The punch cards expire after one year of purchase. Prenatal yoga offers a way to support your body throughout your pregnancy, connect with other pregnant women, and prepare yourself for birth, both physically and mentally. Yoga increases strength and flexibility, decreases anxiety and stress, and is a great way to invite physical and emotional balance into your life. From Mindful Flow Yoga, where you learn to become present and aware, to Yoga Sculpt, with weights and cardio, The Family Garden has just the right class to help you reach your wellness goals.
A fun and energetic class filled with exercises focused on ballet technique and small repetitive movements to tone your body quickly.
More than birth fitness, it’s birth readiness. This class will prepare you to birth your baby in mindfulness. Build confidence in your body’s ability to birth. Strengthen your body to be powerful during the process of labor. Learning how to get your baby into the optional fetal position. Practice moves to help your baby descend. Take time to nurture yourself and connect with your growing baby. Celebrate the phenomenal women you are. This class is suitable for pregnancy and early postpartum women.
This one hour hatha yoga class is designed to be fun and engaging for the whole family! Each class will include some combination of the following: playful warm-ups, seated and standing poses, sun salutations, breathing and mindfulness exercises, yoga-inspired games and imaginary journeys, singing and storytime, and guided relaxation. There will be an emphasis on body awareness, linking of breath with movement, celebrating our connection to Mother Earth and all living beings, and tuning in to our own inner wisdom. Family Yoga is most appealing to preschoolers and young children with their parents, but babies and interested older children are most welcome to join us. Each class will be adapted to suit the ages and interests of the students in attendance.
Family Yoga instructor Amy DelaTerre is a Kripalu-certified yoga instructor. Amy completed her Children’s Yoga teacher training with Shakta Kaur Khalsa in 2002, and her prenatal yoga training with De West in 2009. She holds an MA degree in Enviromental Leadership and Contemplative Education from Naropa University. Amy’s master’s thesis project was an in-depth exploration of yoga as holistic education for children of all ages. Amy has shared yoga with children and adults of all ages in many different settings, including rec. centers, YMCA’s, yoga studios, libraries, preschools, and elementary schools. Amy is currently working on a Children’s Yoga Guidebook for teachers and parents.
Kids of all ages and abilities can benefit from the practice of yoga. Yoga builds strength, balance, flexibility, body awareness, concentration, and self-confidence. Beginning to practice yoga at a young age also gives kids a solid foundation for managing stress and making healthy choices. This 45 minute Yoga suitable for 2 to 7 years old, is designed to get families practicing yoga together in a kid-friendly way. (Mom, Dad or a caregiver will participate along with their toddler.) Each class includes yoga and movement, breath work, and kid-friendly meditation/relaxation, all tied together with a kid friendly theme. We’d love it if you’d come out and play with us!
Discover and cultivate greater physical and mental strength during pregnancy. This class mixes traditional yoga asana with targeted core and pelvic floor strengthening exercises. Find your own inner well of strength as you move and condition your body for pregnancy and birth.
What does it mean to be more mindful? It means to be more present and aware. We work to deepen our breath into our bodies and slow our racing minds. Uniting the breath and movement, flowing through slower Vinyasa sequences and some holding of poses to help bring focus to the mind. This class is for everyone including prenatal moms. This is the perfect way to start your week feeling focused and balanced.
This class is a wonderful way to connect with your baby and other new moms while stretching, moving, and relaxing your body. A typical class can include calming breath, stretching, slow vinyasa sequences, standing poses and some restorative poses all with a hard working, postpartum body in mind. Includes strong core-work to engage and restore the postpartum core in a gentle and loving way. The babies will have some of their own yoga & massage along with some momma and baby playtime interwoven through the class. It is beneficial and suitable for all yogis – new, experienced and still in diapers!
Join a community of new moms for a monthly mini-retreat to refresh frazzled nerves and rejuvenate to tackle the challenges motherhood. During each two-hour class we’ll greet, journal or color, and restore with gentle yoga, including breath work and guided meditation to ground and energize ourselves. All moms who’ve given birth within the year are welcome to join for just one session, or come each month as a chance to give back to yourself! Preregistration required one day prior the event. We need 4 participants for the event to run.
An all levels class with faster flowing sequences, occasional challenging postures and inversions. The student will focus on linking conscious breath with a mindful flow while building strength, flexibility and concentration while cleansing the body and calming the mind.
Enhance strength, flexibility and stability with an hour of Yoga flow. This all levels class is designed to support a beginners practice but also challenge those not new to Vinyasa. Be ready to break a sweat and leave feeling grounded and energized!
For the pregnant woman at any stage of pregnancy, prenatal yoga offers an opportunity to gather with other pregnant women to share their experiences, strengthen their bodies for labor, and to begin the bonding process with their baby. Prenatal yoga incorporates meditations on becoming a mother, yoga postures, attention to breathing, and increased confidence in your body’s natural birthing abilities. This is a great class for both first-time yoga students and those with an already developed practice.
This 90-minute class is for you and your partner to give and receive love, support and attention, We’ll begin with a guided meditation and follow it with a sweet yoga sequence filled with partner poses chosen to connect you, your partner and your baby. Tips and techniques for comforting and supporting you through labor will be shared throughout the class. We’ll close the evening with a loving savasana meant for three and a delectable treat. No yoga experience is needed for this class. Please per-register to secure your spot.
Rejuvenate and restore is a nourishing 2-hour restorative yoga sequence paired with different essential oils. This nourishing practice allows you to take time for yourself to relax and feel refreshed. It gives you time to step away form “busy” life to relax your body and mind to allow yourself to be fully present in this moment and let your mind settle from thought.
This is a gentle class leading you through poses that will calm your mind and stretch your body. Reclined and seated poses will be held for up to 5 minutes, going beyond the surface layers of tension. Poses are also paired with breath-work and a variety of props to enhance comfort and relaxation. This style of yoga allows us to tap into the parasympathetic nervous system-a deep state of rest and digest that is sure to rejuvenate the body and spirit.
This will be a gentle class for anyone looking to rejuvenate from the busyness of our everyday lives. Stretching the body and working to align breath and movement through a series of poses. Using bolsters, blankets and blocks to support the body in poses to allow it to be more open and relaxed. This is a practice that will tend to cool the body as we activate the rest digest systems of our body. Having options such as socks and sweatshirts will help keep you warm throughout the practice. This class is open to anyone and is an especially beautiful way to welcome a practice back after having a baby.

Each of these seven classes will focus on one of our seven chakras. Each class can stand alone; students need not attend every class in the series to reap the benefits of working with their chakra system.
Class 1: Exploring our Root Chakra – Focusing on grounding exercises, along with releasing deep-seated emotions.
Class 2: Exploring our Sacral Chakra – Our ability to express our emotions,experience pleasure, maintain healthy boundaries and engage in healthy expression, are governed by sacral chakra.
Class 3: Exploring our Solar Plexus Chakra – The center of our will-power and self-esteem. A balanced solar plexus helps us make decisions and face challenges with self assurance.
Class 4: Exploring our Heart Chakra – the bridge between the three lower chakras and the three upper chakras.
Class 5: Exploring the Throat Chakra – the energetic center of communication. Freedom of self-expression and comfort in body language.
Class 6: Exploring our Third Eye Chakra – the egergetic seat of our intuition.
Class 7: Exploring our Crown Chakra – the center of our connection with the Divine or higer power/higer consciousness.

Zumba fitness is an effective interval-style, full-body workout that feels like a party! The fitness/dance moves are set to primarily Latin rhythms, but other world rhythms are also used. The cues are non-verbal, so the music is loud enough to energize and the participants are watching the instructor, not each other. No previous dance experience necessary.
Come and get busy burning calories and getting fit while enjoying great music, uplifting energy, and the motivation of those around you. You will WANT to come back again and again!

All you have to do is check the appropriate box on your initial Attendee Form and Liability Waiver when you come in for your first class and we’ll set a standing discount of up to 50% for all our classes and programs for your account! At The Family Garden we celebrate you and your little ones, and we recognize how important it is for you to take the time to learn, socialize and care for yourself. That is where our childcare program comes in! We offer child care in our beautifully equipped child care room during many classes and programs. Not every class has child care available, so please double check the listing to verify availability. We recommend you come a little early to sign your child in and get them settled. Child care is first come, first served so for some of the busier classes there is always a chance that our child care room will have reached capacity and we will not be able to accommodate your child. There will be a charge of $4/child for drop in child care or you may purchase a child care punch card – 5 punches for $18.75 – 10 punches for $35 or 20 punches for $60.
